IN sanitary landfills dumping in a predesigned ditch ata sight and covering it with soil . Covering it with soil makes it sanitary .These layers of soil restricts the access of wastes by insects, rodents or birds .AS IN OPEN LANDFILL it is a deep ditch is dug outside the towns and cities where wastes are dumped. AT regular intervals, the wastes are levelled and covered with soil.

Landfill sites are licenced and regulated by the Environment Agency who also ensure that their impact on the environment is as minimal as possible. The Agency frequently inspect these sites to make sure they are operating within current guidelines and legislation. They try to ensure only appropriate waste (usually the larger quantaties) is placed in landfill sites and as much as possible is recycled, that any nearby water is not polluted, that odours, waste blowing around, noise and vermin are all limited as far as possible and do not become a nuisance or affect the local communities.

They are areas where local authorities and industries can take their rubbish/waste products to be burried and compacted with other household waste for example.

Open dumps are often unlicenced sites where a large hole is dug and people come and dump their rubbish. As they are unlicenced they are unregistered and unregulated lots of inappropriate rubbish is tipped, vermin become a problem, and there is a good chance any nearby water will become poluted etc.

What are the dimension of a standard dump truck?

First, you'd have to define what a "standard" dump truck is. I've driven trucks of all types for over a decade - including dump trucks - and have never known any to be standard. You have single axle dumps - which can be anywhere from a Class 3 to a Class 8 chassis - you have tandem axle dumps, tri-axle dumps, quad axle dumps, quint axle dumps, centipedes, superdumps (with a Strong Arm on the back), then you have tractor-trailer dumps, which could be end dumps, belly dumps, or side dumps.

Why us disposing household waste a problem?

Household waste ends up in dumps when thrown away. The dumps overflow with trash. New dumps are made. In result, trash mountains (dumps) are everywhere.
