There is only and only one sort of electron. If anyone finds a new type of electron, this will be really big news in physics. It would break the Standard Model of particle physics, which has been successful over an extensive set of experimental results.

The two types of charged particles in an atom are protons and electrons. The protons are located in the nucleus, and the electrons are located in orbital clouds around the nucleus (although there is some overlap between the nucleus and the inner orbitals. There are equal numbers of protons and electrons in neutral atoms and the number of protons is what determines the chemical element.
