Speed has dimensions of distance/time or [ LT-1 ].

If you also tack a direction onto it, only then do you have a velocity.

Direction is commonly dimensionless, as in an angle.

What is the definition of velocity gradient?

With respect to material being sheared, velocity gradient is the change dv in relative velocity v between parallel planes with respect to the change dr in perpendicular distance r throughout the depth of the material. Velocity gradient has the same dimensions as rate of shear, which is reciprocal seconds.

How does a streams gradient affect of velocity?

The steeper the gradient, the higher the velocity of flow.

Stream gradient role on stream velocity?

An increase in gradient will generally increase stream velocity.

What is the rate of change of velocity with distance called?

Known to be "VELOCITY GRADIENT"

What do you mean by critical velocity by method of dimensions establish its relation?

Critical Velocity has the same dimensions as of velocity & terminal velocity. [L/T]

What does the River flow velocity depends on?

the gradient and how much friction there was. The gradient means how steep the land the river is on so if it is very steep them the velocity will be higher.

What are the units of velocity gradient?

The velocity gradient (du/dy) where du is the change in velocity and dy is the change in distance between plates, would have units of (1/time) or (1/sec).Hope this helps!

How is acceleration obtained from a velocity line graph?

the gradient of the graph

What is the dimensional formula of velocity gradient?

Velocity is L/T, gradient ("per unit distance") is 1/L so L/T x 1/L = 1/T

How does a stream's gradient affect its velocity?

the difference in velocity is mostly due to the great efficiency of the large downstream channel.

How do you calculate deceleration on a velocity time graph?

It is the downward gradient of the graph.

How are acceleration and speed alike?

They are not alike but they are related. A positive acceleration means an increase in velocity (speed). A negative acceleration means a decrease in velocity. Velocity (speed) has the dimensions of distance / time. Acceleration has the dimensions of distance/time2 or velocity/time.
