The active compounds Psilocybin and Psylocin in magic mushrooms are not poisons. The reason you trip has nothing to do with being poisoned as you may experience from a very bad fever from a virus etc. The experience from the ingestion has more to do with what effect those chemicals have with your brains functioning. Those chemicals are very similar to various serotonin receptors in the brain. Its unclear why people experience what they do, but it has to do with various serotonin parts of the brain being excited etc.

I wouldn't ever recommend a pregnant women to take any sort of drug as there's not any research to show either way so play it safe.

1 thing to bear in mind is that a woman's reproductive system has methods of filtering out foreign elements, viruses and bacteria. For example a pregnant women infected with HIV for instant will not necessarily transmit it to the unborn baby.

But no one knows whether these compounds would or would not be passed down to the child and what effect it would have.

From what we do know, the actives contained with magic mushrooms are less toxic than paracetamol and do very little if no damage at all to an adult person. The only dangers are psychological, or in extreme cases allergic reaction.

Depending on when the marijuana was smoked in accordance with the progress of the pregnancy, it has different effects. early on it would effect the baby because its organs and everything are developing. Later on, I wouldn't suggest doing it, but by then everything is developed but still very well could harm him/her

if youre lucky nothing. but do you really want to take the chance? come on its an unborn child. it cant choose to chew shrooms. im pretty an innocent baby would choose no though. if youre unlucky... you never know.... brain damage i would say would be most likely mental retardation....but hey people would just think the kids got his mothers brains cause they were stupid enough to do drugs while pregnant.

don't mean to be harsh i know lots of people that do drugs while pregnant and it makes me see red! THINK before you act! think about that baby! forget about yourself and think about the life inside you that hasn't even started and you are already making bad choices for it before it get to decide for themselves.

I am a recovering drug addict with a four year old but when i found out i was pregnant i didnt touch another drug. i got sick and was given them in the hospital and lo and behold got hooked again. but i made myself get off them for me and my child. please please think about that baby!

if they make your brain bleed I'm gonna go ahead and assume the toxins may affect your baby as well.
