The open ocean zones or the pelagic ecosystems are areas that are far away from the coasts and just above the sea bed. The open ocean zones lack nutrients that are needed for growth of plants. Due to this, these areas mainly have microphytoplanktons and macro algae.
Trenches are deep ocean features of subduction zones.
There are two major ocean zones, Pelagic and Benthic zones. The Pelagic zone is the open ocean and the Benthic zone is the ocean bottom.

In terms of biomass, deep ocean habitats are similar to Benthic and Abyssal Zones.
Osteogenic zones are primarily seen in the growth plates of long bones, also known as the epiphyseal plates. These zones of specialized cartilage allow for bone growth during development. The different zones within the growth plate are responsible for various stages of bone formation and resorption.
