What are the law of Islam?

The Word of Allah (which means god in Arabic) is considered Islamic Law and is written in the Qur'an by the prophet Mohammed himself. It took him 22 years to write it. Subsequently questions of religious practice and belief came up which were not exactly addressed by the words of the Qur'an or could have multiple different readings. This led to Islamic Jurisprudential Scholars creating the Shari'a, a method through reasoning and textual analysis by which the words of the Qur'an could fit to any necessary situation and address the "right" and "wrong" decisions therein.

6:151 Say, "Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited to you. [He commands] that you not associate anything with Him, and to parents, good treatment, and do not kill your children out of poverty; We will provide for you and them. And do not approach immoralities - what is apparent of them and what is concealed. And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed] except by [legal] right. This has He instructed you that you may use reason."

• Worship only Allah, not Muhammad (only think of Muhammad as prophet, which is why in Islamic art, the face of Muhammad may not be shown).
• Study the Quran/Koran.
• Pray five times a day, facing Mekkah.
• Muslims must give 2.5% of total year's income to poor.
• Muslims also must visit Mekkah once in their life. Once at Mekkah, Muslims usually surround the great rock, Kaaba; it is believed that this rock fell from heaven. They usually kiss it to show gratitude, and throw stones or pebbles at it. To Muslims, the stones they throw at Kaaba idol to them that they are destroying their sins.
• During the holiday of Ramadan, Muslims must not eat from dawn to dusk.
