Tourism benefits to the economy by bringing in foreign revenue. France is the most visited country in the world, and host uncountable magnificent sites and monuments, so the country is in a good position to profit from that income.
However, the volume of tourists puts a drain on some facilities, generating additional expenses. A second negative effect is that France does not make the most of it. The United States and Spain, with less tourists, rake in much more revenue than France (in other terms, holidaying in France isn't expensive enough compared to these countries)
