The answer to this could be debated, but the greatest satanist celebrity up to this point that most people know of is Brian Hugh Warner (aka: Marilyn Manson). Marilyn Manson was actually appointed as the reverend of the Church of Satan by Anton Szandor LaVey (author of The Satanic Bible), founder of the Church of Satan. Marilyn Manson is known for taking on the cognomen of "The Antichrist Superstar". He is known as one of the most controversial artists of the 90's, his music expressing themes related to violence, death/suicide, rebellion, drugs, sex, and other subjects considered to be disdained. One of the Nine Satanic Statements (the very first) states that a satanist represents indulgence rather than abstinence, as in: to please oneself rather than to refrain from pleasure. As many may know, Marilyn Manson has not been hesitant in following this statement, including the rest of the Nine Satanic Statements.
