Jesus stepped into human history approximately 2000 years ago. He began His public ministry at the age of 30 and was crucified 3 years later. During that short period He imparted a message so remarkable in its simplicity, Love. Over the ensuing centuries and after much argument by those claiming to speak for Him during that time, His simple message has been rendered so complex. When asked by the Pharisees which was the most important of God's commandments, Jesus said that we must love God with our whole, heart and soul and mind and love our neighbour (by which He meant everyone around us) as ourselves. We must also have a sense of self-pride or self-esteem, which may also be interpreted as love of ourselves, so that we may be in a healthy frame of mind and body to serve others who must always come first. On these two commandments rest The Law and The Prophets (This may be verified by reading the Gospel of Matthew, 22:37 and verified by Mark's Gospel, 12:28-31).
