GORE-TEX is a completely water poof material.
It lets sweat from your body out but does not let any water, wind etc . In it blocks it out .
It is great for any out door activities like skiing or Snowboarding because it will let all the sweat from you body out but if you fall over no snow or wet will get in through your coat/trousers.
