A:For those parents who choose to send their children to a private, religious school, school prayers are an important part of the religious experience and education. The choice has been made to expose the child to religious training, and prayer is part of that training.

Those parents who choose to send their children to a public school have not elected to expose their children to religious training, and school prayers could be against their specific wishes. It is therefore potentially a violation of rights.

What are the cons over religion in school?

Cons of religion are that: v If the parents of the child are deeply religious with one religion and they want their son/daughter to be that religion. With RE in schools the child might choose to be another religion. v They might become more racist because then know more about that religion which they think are wrong, and be horrible towards that religion. v It might cause some people distress if they go over a sensitive topic that hurts them or distresses them. v It might make people uncomfortable or angry if the teacher is biased towards a religion or they say their opinion on what they think is wrong about their religion or they prefer another religion.

Why is religion not involved in schools?

religion is a central part of many schools, both in the US and across the world. In the US, there are catholic schools and thousands of other faith-based schools. These schools are considered private schools, in the sense that they do not receive public funds. You must pay to attend these schools. they teach normal classes, but in addition, they also teach religion. Public funded schools are strictly forbiden from teaching religion, due to separation of state and church. If the public schools were to teach any religion, that could indicate a government preference for one religion over another, which is undesirable. Government and religion are treated separate, in order to acheive freedom of religion. State sponsored religion should be avoided, because it causes problems, such as civil war and oppression of other religions.
