Speaker wires or speaker cables.
Sorry, let me make this a little more clear. Somebody recently broke in to my car (Fiat punto X reg) and stole my stereo, leaving me with a bunch of severed wires. Now I haven't a clue what any of them do. Could anyone help? The colours are: Yellow/Green Grey Green/White Light-blue/Green | Red/White These two are connected -| | Red/Black Black (I figured this one would be earth?) White/Black Pink/Black Purple/Black Red/Black Thanks for your time
It means that the wires has different colors on it. I have an awkward family
Hot wires in home are normally colored black. And ground wires in computers are normally colored black as well.
In typical DC circuits, Red = Positive, Black = Negative.
You would have to provide more info to be certain what your problem is. Typically a black and white wire would connect to the two wires on the light fixture. The fixture should also be controlled by a switch that "breaks" the black (Hot Wire) to turn off the fixture. If you have a volt meter you can see if there is 120Volts between the black and white wires with switch on. If there is a single white wire going to fixture (Neutral), where is the "black wires tied" to. Maybe one of the black wires has broken off the fixture.
To hook up stereo speakers in a truck, attach the stereo wiring to the stereo and run it to the speakers. Clip the stereo speakers into the wires and place them in the panel spaces in the truck.
make sure the speakers werent stolen first off then try new wires from the stereo to a speaker that you are sure works. if that speaker doesnt work take your stereo back
Yes.
You take the stereo out of the car, get a 12v battery and charger, or a 12v regulated power supply capable of about 5Amps. Plug the red and yellow wires to the positive supply and the black wire to the negative. The speaker wires are in pairs, some stereos have four speakers. There may be extra wires for ancillary use, orange for illumination and blue for electric antenna. These may be ignored and insulated.
The wiring color code for a 1998 Suzuki Esteem is easy to follow, and the wires are easy to identify. The radio battery constant 12 volt + wire is white, the accessory switched 12 volt + wire is white/black, the ground wire is black, and the illumination wire is red/yellow. For the speakers, the front left speaker wires (+,-) are black/orange and orange, and the right front speaker wires (+,-) are red/black and red. For the rear speakers, the rear left speakers (+,-) are light green/black and light green, and the right rear speakers (+,-) are gray/red and red.
If you have two of the same color (usually black) then these are the common for the left and right speakers. Hook up the other two wires to either side and listen to it. If it sounds right, it is right. You generally can't break it.
you match them with the same colors
The 'fader' setting on the stereo may be set to 'rear'. The front speaker wires may be damaged or disconnected from the stereo or speaker.
It is possible that you are mixing up the negative and positive wires on the speakers, and what you are hearing is phase cancellation when both speakers are on, which would not be evident with only one speaker. Make sure both speakers are connected with the + and - wires (red and black) properly to the amp. There is usually writing or a small molded notch in the speaker wire to help you maintain the proper polarity for the wires.
* simply remove the sterio * if there are wires not connected to anything, these are for extra speakers. * lengthen these wires, running them under the carpet and behind the rear seats into the boot. * now connect the wires to your speakers, ensure you have made holes to fit the speakers into the shelf. * Now wack on your bassy beats and head bang round town.
just so you know when i put a new stereo in my aerostar i had to run new wires to the stereo speakers because the stock stereo had a common ground so one ground for two speakers i damn near fried the deck figuring that out hopefuly you wont.
You can go wireless, but you will have to buy wireless speakers. There is no current way of upgrading from wired to wireless and keeping the same speakers. The only way I can imagine is to buy some wireless speakers and then dismantle those and add the pieces to the old wired speakers, the ideal outcome, making them wireless and using the same good quality speakers that came with the stereo.
