USA: 1995
OJ Simpson was acquitted of murder charges on October 3, 1995.
On Oct. 3, 1995, a Southern California jury found Simpson not guilty of the 1994 murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend Ronald Goldman.
The O. J. Simpson murder case (officially called the People v. Simpson) was a criminal trial held in the Los Angeles County, California, Superior Court in which former American football star and actor O. J. Simpson was charged with the July 8,1994 murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. The case has been described as the most publicized criminal trial in American history.Simpson was acquitted after a lengthy trial that lasted over nine months-the longest jury trial in California history.
OJ Simpson was not arrested due to the civil trial. Civil court differs from criminal court and usually the winner receives a monetary settlement for suffering and damages. Simpson was ordered to pay the Browns and Goldmans multiple millions for the death of their loved ones but as far as I know he has never payed a cent. But for the families the civil trial was a victory of sorts. The civil jury found him responsible for the deaths of Nichol Brown and Ron Goldman.
