What are the requirements of a senator?
to be a senator you must be:
-atleast 30 years of age
-a citizen of the US for atleast 9 years
-a resident of the state your representing
There are several requirements: be a Canadian citizen; be at least 30 years old; own property in your province or territory; and live in the province or territory that you will represent as a senator. If you meet all of these criteria, and you know the Prime Minister incredibly well, you are eligible to be a Senator. See related link for more information.
According to Article I, Section 3 of the United States Constitution, the only requirements for becoming U.S. Senator are: 1. You must be at least 30 years old. 2. You must be a U.S. citizen for at least nine(9) years at the time of your election to the Senate. 3. You must be a resident of the state that you are elected to represent in the Senate.
