you have to dress modestly; meaning cover your body from your neck to your ankle avoiding tight fit clothes and wearing loose clothing so the figure of your body is not shown.

Why? Think of it like this, you find a sweet but it has no wrapper on, would you buy it and eat it? No. Because it's been out in the public; anyone could have touched it. Same concept can be applied to women. Women wear loose clothing and cover themselves to stop men looking at them

Islam, as the last religion, settled for Muslims the general rules and Guides and made teachings to them to guide them in all aspects of their lives and to help them to lead a good life. These rules, Guides, and teachings are based on Quran, the Muslims holy book, and the sayings and practices of prophet Mohamed (peace upon him). They are valid from early days of religion God revelation to prophet Mohamed in year 610 AD until the last day of the universe and the Day of Judgment.

The basic Islam rules for Islam clothing is the following:

  • For men, there is no specific cloth requirement by religion. It is subject to the local cultures and traditions. However:
    • the cloth should, at least, cover the body from the naval to the knees,
    • the cloth should not be from silk, and
    • Men are forbidden from wearing gold as ring, necklace, or by anyhow.
  • For women, no restriction on the cloth material or colors. The cloth could be from silk or any other material. It could be colorful or not. It could be dark colored, white colored, of different colors, whatever. It could be one piece cloth or more than one piece. However, women are commanded by Islam to wear cloth that meets the following requirements:
    • the cloth should cover the whole body, including hair, except the face and the hands.
    • the cloth should not be so tight to describe the woman body or sexy parts
    • the cloth should not be so transparent to make the under cloth visible.
