The group of organisms that occupy the second trophic level of an ecosystem is the herbivores. The herbivores eat the plants in the first trophic level and are then called primary consumers.
-Gallo :)
the first trophic level is the producer aka the plant.
the second trophic level is the first order consumer or the primary consumer. they are herbivores.
The second trophic level refers to all consumers.
prairie dog
2nd trophic level; herbavoir
1st level consumers are any heterotrophs (animals that do not harvest food through photosynthesis or chemosynthesis) that eat producers (plants, bacteria, things that make their own food). 2nd level consumers are carnivores or omnivores that eat 1st level consumers, and the 3rd eats 2nd, and so on and so forth. Well a 3rd level consumer is a decomposer second is a carnivore first is a herbivore
Energy flows from one trophic level to the next (Producer->Primary Consumer->Secondary Consumer). Energy transfer becomes less efficient as it's being transferred; seeing as it is partly used by the organism for metabolic processes.
The amount of energy transferred from each trophic level to the next is around 10%. This is a tiny amount. By the 4th level, there is so little energy available that it is not possible (in most cases) to support a 5th level. Generally, where a 5th level exists, the organism isn't on the 5th level for every chain it is included in. Example: Primary producer (1st level) :100 Joules Primary consumer (2nd level) : 10 J Secondary consumer (3rd level) : 1 J Tertiary consumer (4th level) : 0.1 J
2nd level consumer is a consumer that is an omnivore or a carnivore that eats the 1st level consumers
It is the 2nd consumer on the trophic level! :)
Secondary consumers belong on the 2nd level trophic level yah!
2nd trophic level; herbavoir
1st trophic level=flowers,trees,grass & algae. 2nd trophic level=caterpillars,cow,grasshoppers & bettes. 3rd trophic level=humans,birds & frogs 4th trophic level=lions,dogs and snakes
1st trophic level=flowers,trees,grass & algae. 2nd trophic level=caterpillars,cow,grasshoppers & bettes. 3rd trophic level=humans,birds & frogs 4th trophic level=lions,dogs and snakes

Animals at the second trophic level that eat flowers are the herbivores. These animals eat both plants and flowers of different plant types.
According to the list below, tigers would be a trophic level 4 or Top Level Carnivore. Trophic levels are:1st/bottom level) Producers: Organisms that produce their own food such as plants.2nd level) Consumers: These are animals that are herbivores, they eat plants and no meat.3rd level) Secondary Consumers: These are primary carnivores and only eat meat.4th/top level) Tertiary Consumers: These are the creatures at the top of the food chain because they have no predators.
An animal that eats 2nd level consumers. the 3rd level consumers are animals that mostly eat 2nd level consumers.
