Both convey information, neither is an absolute objective source (some people conflate "primary" with "truth," and bias/ignorance extisted when this took place), and sometimes a source can be both primary or secondary.

∙ 10y agoAs people pass on information in various ways, they tend to select the parts that they think are most important, and they can alter and edit the information in various ways; often they simply misinterpret the information and make mistakes, or make the information conform to their own ideology. Primary sources give you an unaltered form of information, which might tell you things that the altered versions do not tell you.
