A continuous plasma stream expanding into interplanetary space from the sun's corona. The wind from the Sun. More specifically, particles, usually electrons and protons, continually streaming away from the corona of the Sun. The solar wind is extremely sparse, containing only a few fast moving particles per cubic centimeter at the Earth.

The solar wind contains roughly equal number of electrons and protons. As too the solar flare, it is a large explosion in the sun's atmosphere. So practically, it doesn't even relate, only with the sun. :)
