By mapping it to a network drive
Drive mapping is the way by which Microsoft Windows and OS/2 associate a local drive letter (A through Z) with a shared storage area to another computer over a network whereas UNC, short for Universal Naming Convention or Uniform Naming Convention that specifies a common syntax to describe the location of a network resource, such as a shared file, directory, or printer.

Easy. Make sure the folder you want to map is shared. Then go into your My Network Places. Find the computer in the list that's sharing the resource you want to map a network drive to. Double-click on it and find the folder to map. Right-click it and and select Map Network Drive. Then configure your options as you see fit, such as the drive letter.

To map and shared A drive to the network you will have to follow a few steps. First right click on the explore, then right click on the drive or the folder you want to share and click the sharing and security and finally on the sharing tab click on share this folder and that should do it.

Network mapping uses a protocol called LLTD (Link Layer Topology Discovery) to find computers and devices on a network and displaying them in a schematic way on your screen. More information about using this protocol can be found on the Microsoft website.
