I am not aware that there exists any such theory. Most likely you are confusing the Big Bang theory, which explains observations in physics, cosmology and astronomy, with evolutionary theory, which explains observations in Biology and palaeontology.

The strengths are that you can rely on science as an answer for everything and anything, you are free to live a life of your own accord and not have to abide by rules set by religious standings.

The weaknesses are that you cannot ever prove it to be true unless you physically watch a monkey evolve into a human, you cannot admit that science is a solution for everything and can solve anything. Basically, if the evolutionary theory is proven wrong, which it is in my views, the only thing you can really believe is that there is some form of higher being that has a set implicit rules guidelines which you wouldn't want to follow.

Since the previous answer was so matter of fact about what they believe, i'll do the same. Science answers a lot. but science is also wrong in a lot of things. Evolution will never be correct. Show me a monkey made man and i'll believe it. Rats are equally as closely related to humans as monkeys are (hence one reason they are used in experiments before going out to the public) yet there is no way we will ever be proclaimed to be related to rats. Evolution is a ridiculous theory and going off of the scientific rule, it completely contradicts that.

The theory doesn't explain other organelles such as the endoplasmic reticulum or the Golgi aparatus. This theory has not been strongly observed. although it manages to discover some commonness between prokaryotes and mitochondria/chloroplast.....like in the case of of dividing by binary fission, circular DNA, 70s ribosomes,membrane bound ,food stores in form opf grain.......delight#delo#......

The endosymbiosis theory attempts to explain how chloroplasts and mitochondria came to be. In a nut shell, a larger organism engulfed a smaller prokaryotic organism, but offered protection instead of digesting it. In turn the smaller organism offered a benefit--increased ATP, photosynthesis, ect. Over a long enough time period the two became one.

Strengths: Mitochondria and chloroplasts both divide by binary fission, like prokaryotes. They consist of 1 single circular chromosome. Each have an electron transport chain, regular eukaryotic cells do not. They are the same size as a prokaryote. They have their own set of ribosomes, used to synthesize their own proteins.

Weakness: The theory doesn't explain other organelles such as the endoplasmic reticulum or the Golgi aparatus. This theory has not been strongly observed.

I think this question merits an answer separate from 'What is the evidence for evolutionary theory' because it contains the key phrase 'strengths and weaknesses', a phrase that is often used by ID-proponents in their attempts to insert religion into science.

When we discuss evolution at this level, we're discussing the fundamental theses of evolution: 1) that modern forms share common ancestors, and 2) that they diverged from these common ancestors by a process of reproductive variation and natural selection.

ID-proponents seek to cast doubt on these theses not by addressing them through science, but by appealing to public opinion through a campaign of misinformation. The phrase 'teach the strengths and weaknesses of evolution' has been one of their key slogans in this campaign. It seeks to suggest to the general public that there is doubt in the scientific community whether the two theses mentioned above are accurate.

But, as pointed out elsewhere (see also questions regarding the evidence for evolutionary theory), there is not. While the scientific debate continues on issues peripheral to evolutionary theory, these two fundamental theses are so well established in fact that it has become impossible to reasonably reject them. They can, for all intents and purposes, be taken as fact. Given this, it is nonsensical to speak of 'strengths and weaknesses' of evolutionary theory.
