A solution is a homogeneous mixture composed of two or more substances. In such a mixture, a solute is dissolved in another substance, known as a solvent. A mixture is a substance made by combining two or more different materials with no chemical reaction occurring, such as water and alcohol. Energy drinks however, are solutions because the ingredients can not be separated by boiling or any other method such as evaporation.
