Ring worm is actually a fungal infection of the skin. Several symptoms of ring worm are: a red circular lesion on the skin, severe pruritus (itchiness), hair loss and thickening of the skin (chronic lesions only).

Ring worm can look like a red lesion, red, and itchy. Start as a single small spot and then grow larger and potentially spread to other spots on your body. The edges are typically slightly darker than the interior of the lesion. I would recommend seeing your PCP to make sure you are treated for the correct skin condition.
