Some people view the rapid multiculturalism as detrimental to the national identity, and are concerned that New Zealand culture will somehow become diluted by the other cultures entering the country.

A lot of money goes toward aiding the assimilation (finding jobs, healthcare, education etc.) of internationals, with some people thinking this money would be better spent on existing citizens.

No different to anyone else around the world we may have some different blood for example our parents could be mixed cultures but generally we are not different to the people throughout the rest of the world. We are laid back easy going happy people come visit us and find out!!

New Zealand has many different people, some nice, others not so however I cannot generalise or be bias in my decision. The most New Zealander's I have met are nice and there are some I have not enjoyed their company but if I had to come to a decision I would have to say, they are good people.

Taboos in New Zealand are:

- sexist jokes are usually not appreciated.

-many other Western taboos such as incest and less serious things.

The Maori have some other taboos:

-don't pronounce words wrong in their language, this is disrespectful.

-use furniture for the purpose it was made for. (especially sitting on the dining table)
