There are actually four.
Cumulus- moderate altitude, white, puffy clouds.
Cirrus- high altitude; looks like hair in the sky and usually means fair weather.
Stratus-Low altitude and an overcast sky or fog is an example.
Cumulonimbus- These are puffy dark clouds that tower and are very tall.They usually bring thunderstorms.
There are also over 100 other types of clouds.
There is cirrus, which is faint and wispy coulds that are very high in the sky, there are stratus clouds, which are a bit lower, and form large layers and cover vast area, and there are cumulus, which are the puffy ones. There are dozens of others, which don't require the knowledge of most people.
You can classify clouds by their function. Some clouds carry rain, while other clouds appear on a clear, beautiful day.
