A personal computer is comprised of core hardware and software components. The "brain" of the computer is the central processing unit, or CPU. The CPU will be located on component panel known as the motherboard. The motherboard will also hold slots for the computers RAM (memory) modules. Other hardware may include graphical processing unit (GPU) and sound cards. A hard disk is used for data and operating system storage. The computer will be electrified by a power supply unit. These core components comprise a contemporary personal computer.
In a very brief overview, typically the modern computer is comprised of:
A chassis that holds all the components,
A screen or monitor (usually a liquid crystal display or LCD).
Some kind of user interface device like a keyboard
A motherboard which houses the BIOS and the computer's sockets for key components and peripheral devices,
A central processing unit (CPU) that is responsible for managing incoming requests and for coordinating computer operations as well as making rapid calculations
System memory (often called random access memory or RAM) that provides a way for the computer to run programs and hold information not committed to permanent storage memory
Storage memory like a hard drive (HDD) or solid state drive (SSD) that permanently stores data even while the computer is not running on power
Usually computers will also include:
An optical drive (ODD) which is responsible for reading media on CD, DVD or BluRay discs
A graphics processing unit (or GPU, sometimes called a "graphics card" or even a "vga card") that is solely responsible for graphics processing. If a computer does not have a GPU, the CPU is usually responsible for doing limited graphics applications with what is called "integrated graphics."
Those are the main components of the modern computer.

Computer buses are the wires that send data around a computer. So, they are indeed components of a computer. However, in modern computers, the buses are a part of the motherboard. In older computer times, there were separate backplanes that everything else plugged into. So the name bus came from that period of time, and they were indeed separate components then.

Well, inside the computer, the three main hardware components are RAM (Random Access Memory), The CPU (Central Processing Unit) and the Power Supply (Battery). On the outside, you have the monitor (Screen), keyboard (typey thing) and mouse (What you move the cursor with).
CPUWhile there are many required components in a modern computer, the heart of the computer is the CPU or Central Processing Unit. Without the CPU, the other components can not work together.
