I believe that science makes more than two assumptions about the natural world. Here are some that I know about:
(first stated by David Hume) the future will resemble the past in all appropriate respects;
events have causes, which happen earlier in time than the events which they cause;
the human mind is capable of understanding the real world;
reality is observable, directly or indirectly;
the universe is not specifically designed to mislead us (or as Einstein said, God does not play dice with the universe).

science uses to support its explanations
Natural philosophy is one answer.
Science makes three assumptions, the natural world can be understood by humans. the universe is a single system and the basic rules of physics and nature are the same everywhere, and if there is something we dont understand, is is because we dont yet have the proper tools and knowledge.
Science, The process of learning more about the natural world is Science.
Science is a way of learning about the natural world
PlausibilityPredictability, Causality, Regularity, and Measurability all of these
Science its self makes science everything in our world makes science

How isn't it? Science is the method of understanding the natural world. Is not History part of the natural world and has not Science been used in history?
Recently, scientists attached great importance to geographical researches of society, therefore, geography is considered to be a social science in many parts of the world. But geography is a science about surroundings by its nature.
