There are hundreds of different units within the Imperial system. Some of these are
Length:
inch, palm (=3"), hand (=4"), foot, yard, rod, chain, furlong, mile
Area:
square inch, square foot, etc, rood, acre
Volume:
cubic inch, cubic foot etc, (fluid) ounce, gill, cup, pint, quart, gallon, bucket, bushel, barrel, hogshead
Mass:
pennyweight, ounce, pound, stone, hundredweight, quarter, ton
Energy:
BTU, calorie, horsepower, therm.
In addition there are many more derived units such as pounds per square inch.
Note - the old English system was called Imperial - NOT English. In England the people now use the "Metric System" and have done so for some time now.
It depends on the units used in the measurements "20x30x40"
Standard measurement, or "English measurement".
Standard units are used for measurmen as there is a system called the SI units and that is considered as the international system of units that is why we use standard units for measurment .
To Metric: The English system is only used by basically one country and is unnecessarily complicated! The metric system uses tens and its multiples, very simple! To English: Be different! Don't go with the flow of the world. English system is radical and AMERICAN!
The answer will depend on the units used for the given measurements of the room. Is the room 20ft * 6ft or 20yards * 6yards or some other units?
International System of Measurements.
The Imperial system of measurements, originally used in England.
Customary System was developed from English units and later modified in the United States. These are the common measurements used in the US after America declared its independence.
United States customary units are a system of measurements commonly used in the United States.
Standard units are used for measurements. it is taken as a fundamental unit.
SI units, which is the abbreviation for International System of Units, is used for making measurements that can be understood in various countries. While most countries have no adopted SI units as their form of measurements, some countries like the United States only use them in certain areas of study.
The US Customary system is a system of measurements which is used only in the US and seldom elsewhere. Some of its measurements include: inch, yard, mile, pound, quart, pint, etc. Elsewhere, the metric system is used. This is an efficient system because it is based on powers of 10. Some metric units include: kilogram, millimeter, centimeter, and kilometer.
You presuppose that scientists think in the same restricted way as the rest of the population.

The Fahrenheit scale was traditionally used in the English system of measurement until largely supplanted by the Celsius scale. Measurements in the Fahrenheit scale are generally used only in the US, almost exclusively for air temperatures, body temperatures, and oven temperatures.Another scale that uses English degree units is the Rankine scale, which is based on absolute zero.
It is used in the measurement of mass.
If you mean the units, the most commonly used units are degrees, and radians.
