Like the sense of touch, each object perceived is made of bumps - they can be big they can be small, each bump has a texture and a color or temperature - blue for cold, red for hot, other colors in between vary with temperature. You can be burned by the color - it's like feeling hot and cold at the same time - that's a flash or drowning light.

The visual texture is grainy or smooth, has a hard edge or is fuzzed (a sharp cut or a slow fade to nothing.) A platinum wedding ring is smooth, and very cold, it's slightly fuzzy in the main portion of the ring, the edges are sharp.

Night vision is very bland - humans don't see color in low light - so it would be like most every thing has the same temperature at night; it's the textures that allow you to see anything. One thing that might confuse someone is depth: information for the eye is very compact, the eye can almost change how big it is, as if your hands could be 1" then 5" then 3 feet, the 20 feet then a mile. The larger the eye information is (the larger the hand) the more indistinct the feeling is - as your visual hand grows the nerves grow with it so details are easy to feel up close, but at a distance (HUGE hands) the details are gone.
