WAN ( Wide Area Network )
Wide-area networks (WANs).
Bridges are used to connect two physically separated pieces of the same network.
Bridge mode allows to connect to geographically separate piece of the same network together. For instance you have one piece of the network in one building and another one in another building. You can't use a cable to connect them together. In such situation you might have to use a bridge.
A bridge is a way to connect two networks. For example, if a user has two or more computers connected to a wired network, and one of those wired computers is connected to a wireless network, the computer connected to both the wired and wireless networks could be used as a bridge. With the bridged networks, the wired computers could access the wireless network.
A telecommunications network is a collection of terminals, links and nodes which connect to enable telecommunication between users of the terminals. Networks may use circuit switching or message switching. Each terminal in the network must have a unique address so messages or connections can be routed to the correct recipients. The collection of addresses in the network is called the address space. The links connect the nodes together and are themselves built upon an underlying transmission network which physically pushes the message across the link.Examples of telecommunications networks are:computer networksthe internetthe telephone networkthe global Telex network A telecommunications network is a collection of terminals, links and nodes which connect to enable telecommunication between users of the terminals. I'm pretty sure LAN's are a group of computers connected to each other through routers/modems or ethernet cables. The internet it similar to LAN's but instead of connecting to other computers close by, it connects to computers all around the world.
If they are in a local geographic area but two separate networks that would technically be a WAN. Of course some people call them MAN's for "Metropolitan area network."
A dedicated cable that is used to connect two locations and comes with a monthly charge. The lines are used for data networks or voice networks.
NCP
APs provide access to internet. Bridges connect together separated networks creating one bigger network.
A system used to connect incompatible networks is called a gateway.
Multiple networks
A Translational Bridge is used to connect networks that use different protocols.
The purpose of a router is to connect dissimilar networks.
First of reboot your computer, second try to update the driver for your wireless adapter. Also make sure that you are allowed to connect to those findable networks. If you can see the networks it does not mean that you can connect to it. Many people use secured wireless networks which protects networks from unauthorized access.
There are only some types of computer that will connect to certain types of wireless networks. Notebooks can connect to wireless networks like laptops do; just make sure your router is picking up signals and that its appearing on your notebook.
Yes, especially if the networks employ subnets.
Routers were designed with purpose to connect different networks.
