A magnetic field is a change in energy within a volume of space. A magnetograph can be created by placing a piece of paper over a magnet and sprinkling the paper with iron filings. The particles align themselves with the lines of magnetic force produced by the magnet. The magnetic lines of force show where the magnetic field exits the material at one pole and reenters the material at another pole along the length of the magnet. It should be noted that the magnetic lines of force exist in three dimensions but are only seen in two dimensions in the image.

As discussed previously, a magnetic field is a change in energy within a volume of space. The magnetic field surrounding a bar magnet can be seen in the magnetograph below.

A magnetic field produced by a current has the characteristic?

The current must be changing. Say thank you to Faraday.

What causes a magnetic field to be produced around a wire?

Current flows through a wire and produces a magnetic field.

How would you describe the magnetic field produced by a current in a straight wire?

Yes. It depends on its resistivity

How is mechanical force produced on a wire when it is passed through a wire in a magnetic field?

The movement through a magnetic field will induce a voltage; if there is a closed circuit, that will produce a current. The current, in turn, will have a magnetic field, which will interact with the external magnetic field. The direction of the interaction will be such that energy is conserved, i.e., it will tend to slow the wire down.

How can magnetism be induced?

You can turn a magnetic field produced by a current on or off by simply turning the current on of off, You can change the direction of the magnetic field by reversing the direction of the current, You can also change the strength of a magnetic field produced by a current by looping the wire, by winding a wire with a current into many loops you strengthen the magnetic field in the center of the coil.

Current passing through a conductor is increased from 10 A to 15 A. This decreases the strength of the magnetic field produced by the conductor.?

No. More current will result in more magnetic field.

CIRCULAR

What causes a magnetic field to be produced around a wire?

Current flows through a wire and produces a magnetic field.

What flows through a circuit and causes a magnetic field?

An electric current flowing through a circuit causes a magnetic field. This is due to the movement of electric charges, usually electrons, in the circuit. The magnetic field produced is perpendicular to the direction of the current flow.
