There are many feature which could be considered to be significant. The mountain is perhaps the most significant feature as the site of the signal fire, the fire which burns out of control and the landing place of the dead pilot. However the platform (where meetings are held), the Castle Rock (where Jack makes his headquarters and where Piggy is killed), the scar, the lagoon and Simon's den (under the mat of creepers, where Ralph later hides) are all important locations. Two features which you might consider significant are that the island has a readily available supply off food & water and also of significance is that there are no adults.
