Signs that a tornado may soon form include rotation in the clouds of a thunderstorm, a persistent lowering of the cloud base, and a clear slot opening up in the clouds in or near that rotation.
There are several signs of a tornado approaching. I will list them here in order of urgency.
Rotating Thunderhead: generally, a spinning thunderstorm means that it could sport a tornado. This isn't always a sign, though because it could be just a normal thunderstorm.
Mammatus Clouds: lumpy clouds on the bottom of a thunderhead often indicates lots of instability and rotation in the cloud which can cause tornadoes. Tornadoes often form anywhere from 1-90 minutes after the formation of these clouds.
Greenish Sky: in very big and dense thunderclouds, the light gets bent and causes the clouds to look green. A tornado could develop anywhere from 1-30 minutes after the change in sky color.
Continuous Lightning: in thunderheads with lots of wind and rotation, the lightning discharges are so frequent they seem constant. A tornado might develop about 30 minutes into the continuous lightning.
Large Hail: the more hail, the more updrafts, the more rotation, the more chance of a tornado. A tornado may strike anywhere from 1-20 minutes into the hailstorm.
Wall Cloud: when a whirlwind is getting ready to drop from a cloud and turn into a tornado, it forms a collar-like structure in the cloud called a wall cloud. A funnel may drop 1-15 minutes after the formation of the wall cloud
Freight Train Roar: High winds make this sound. A tornado may strike within 1-3 minutes
Flying Debris: A wall of a tornado could be very close. A tornado may hit in less than 20 seconds
Sudden Absolute Silence in the middle of a Severe Storm: a tornado could be about to touch down ON or right next to the area you are in.
Those are pretty much all the basic signs of a tornado, though if any of the last 3 signs are happening, there would already be a tornado warning on.
If we are assuming the you will get hit by the tornado, the following things often happen
1. a strong rotating thunderstorm will come to your town
2. mammatus clouds may form
3. the sky may turn greenish,
4. large hail may begin falling
5. a wall cloud will likely form near or approach your home
7. you may hear a jet-like roar
6. you will notice debris flying around
7. there will be a sudden absolute silence
8. a tornado will hit
Most tornadoes, especially significant ones, usually occur during severe thunderstorms called supercells. As the supercell approaches it may take on the appearance of stacked plates. As the potential tornado-producing region comes into view, you may see rotation in the cloud base, with part of the base lowered in what is called a wall cloud. If a funnel cloud appears in the wall cloud, a tornado may form in minutes or even seconds.
From the ground it can be difficult to distinguish a hurricane from a ordinary storm system at first. As a hurricane approaches the barometric pressure will start to drop, though this is true of any storm. The wind will begin to pick up and rain will start falling. Thunderstorms may occur in this pat of the storm. Conditions will progressively worse, alternating between periods of light and heavy rain as the spiral bands pass overhead. If a hurricane may impact your area pay attention to advisories from the National Weather Service and National Hurricane Center.
Signs of a tornado may be somewhat more distinct. Most tornadoes form in a type of rotating severe thunderstorm called a supercell. Warnings signs of a potential tornado include rotation in the clouds, a persistent lowering of the cloud base, and a hole opening up in the clouds in or near this rotation. A cone or funnel shaped cloud in this area means that a tornado is likely developing or may already be on the ground.
Other conditions often associated with tornadoes include a greenish sky and large hail. These are not necessarily indicators of a tornado, but they often accompany them and the hail can be dangerous in its own right.
Tornado warning signs can vary. Tornadoes are often accompanied by hail, though this is far from a certain warning. More definite signs of the precursor to a tornado. These include a lowering of the cloud base, rotation in the clouds, and a hole opening up in the clouds in or near this rotation. If you see a funnel cloud a tornado is developing to may already be on the ground. Sometimes the sky will turn a shade of green before a tornado, though this simply means that the storm is likely severe, not necessarily tornadic.
If you are looking at the radar and a hook shape forms on a storm cell, especially on the western or southern side. See the link below for a textbook example of this.
Three warnings signs of a tornado include a persistent lowering of the cloud base in one section of a thunderstorm, rotation in the clouds, and ears popping. This last sign means that a tornado is very close if not right on top of you.
If weather forecasting is available it is advisable to watch the weather channel or listen to the radio if you notice any of the above signs outside.
Such a thing is impossible to predict. A tornado warning itself is a prediction that the threat of a tornado is imminent. As soon as signs indicate that a tornado warning is warranted, then one is issued. So there is no way of nowing when a tornado warning is going to be issued until it actually happens.
A tornado watch is a watch that is watching out for tornadoes. A tornado warning is a warning That lets you know that a tornado is spotted.
The average lead time for a tornado warning is 14 minutes.
a tornado warning is something that tells u a tornado has been spotted in your area or is strongly indicated by radar. so tornado warning means tornado near you. you should take cover when this is issued.
The average lead time for a tornado warning is 15 minutes.
When there are signs of an oncoming tornado and the people are warning you\alerting you about it, to be prepared.

Three warning signs include: abandoned in a peculiar place, odd fumes from trunk, and visible uxo's and wires.
Regulatory,Warning and guide
Partially. A tornado warning means that a tornado is likely to form or already has formed.
Sort of. A tornado warning means that either a tornado has already formed or may form very soon.
Severe thunderstorms have the potential of producing a tornado with little or no advanced tornado warning.
No. A tornado warning means that a tornado is likely to form or has already been spotted.
"The tornado warning scared you." is active voice. "You were scared by the tornado warning." is passive voice.
Tornado warning
A tornado warning is a higher level of alert, often meaning that a tornado has formed.
