There are two types of white blood cell. The kind which secrete antibodies to kill microbes are called lymphocytes. The other type, which engulf microorganisms, are called phagocytes.

*Specifically, the type of lymphocyte (white blood cell) that produces antibodies would be plasma cells. After a B cell (a type of lymphocyte) undergoes clonal selection, the result is the formation of a clone of B cells that consists of plasma cells and memory B cells. Plasma cells secrete antibodies and memory B cells do not secrete antibodies.

The type of white blood cells which produce antibodies are called lymphocytes, as they mature in the lymphatic system. More specifically the cells directly responsible within this group are known as 'B' cells, stimulated into action by helper T cells.

Which cells make antibodies?

B lymphocytes are the white blood cells that produce plasma cells that produce antibodies. Antibodies are special proteins that recognize foreign materials and help the body destroy or neutralize them. The type of white blood cell that secretes antibodies to kill microorganisms is called lymphocytes. The other kind of white blood cell is called the phagocyte, which kills pathogens by engulfing them (basically, "eating" the microbe).

What are lypthocytes?

Do you mean lymphocytes? Lymphocytes are white blood cells which make chemicals called antibodies. Antibodies destroy bacteria which get into the blood. They give us immunity to diseases.

How does an immune response starts after a macrophage attacts a pathogen?

The blood cells detect the pathogen The pathogens release toxins The blood cells make antibodies to fit the toxins ( they have to be a specific shape) The antibodies stick the bacteria together ready to be engulfed by he white blood cells The White blood cells remember the antibodies needed for that pathogen so they can make antibodies quicker next time the pathogen invades

How does the immune system fight so many diseases?

the immune system fights diseases by creating more white blood cells which trigger more white blood cells that make antibodies.
