∙ 13y agoThere are several different varieties of UAV's - some work in reconnaissence, and carry no weapons, and others carry out bombing runs and are armed to the teeth with missles. Perhaps the most famous example of a conflict-ready UAV is the Predator Drone, which can launch devestating Hellfire missles.
Currently, General Atomics - a company that manufactures the Predator and a few other UAV's - is working on an attachment that will allow their drones to carry Stinger AAMs (Air-to-Air missles), enabling it to strike not only ground targets, but air targets as well.
