It depends if it is a 4 wheel drive truck. A rear driveshaft is used to drive the rear axle. A front driveshaft is used to drive the front axle on a 4X4.
my friend used to have a go kart and he used to drive that up the road when it wasn't insured (but our road isn't very busy!!)
FACTActually believe it or not, it is a sport.FACTIt absolutely is a sport . My husband used to think otherwise until he tried the Richard Petty Driving Experience at NHIS. He only drove for 8 laps on a 1 mile track and could hardly move his arms for two days afterward. He said he had never been so hot in a car in his life (it was July).
Most of these trucks have Dana 60s in the front of them. Look up the markings of a "Dana" axle on Google and the ID charts should help you identify your axle.

It was used typically on much older vehicles (1920's and 30's) using a front straight axle with a single multi-leaf spring. The wishbone would hold the front axle in alignment while allowing the axle to move up and down for suspension
There are three weights used: GVWR and FRONT AXLE and REAR AXLE. For each vehicle this information is located by opening the driver's door and looking on the door jam (near latch) for the empty weight. My GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) for my '87 Prelude is 3340 lbs. Front axle weight is higher than the rear axle due to the engine up front.
For Axle Nut its 30mm
Yes it can minor grinding may be required
The front axle on these trucks have a mechanical actuator that locks the front differential in. They have used vacuum, thermal and mechanical means for this. The mechanical is the most reliable. This is a common fail point on the Chevys/GMCs. It is located on the front axle next to the differential.
No. Axle is always a noun. It can be used as a noun adjunct (axle grease).
The first electric streetcar was invented in 1875 in St Petersburg Russia by Fyodor Pirotsky. It was not fully used until 1880 and in 1881 the first commercial electric streetcar was unveiled by Werner Von Siemens.
