knowing informations about it help us to learn more about our living in this world... Including all the branches or sub- branches of Biology.... It may help us to protect, provide, nourish, and avoid all the things that surround us, especially for ourselves.... Branches of biology are: * Agriculture - The study of producing crops from the land, with an emphasis on practical applications. * Anatomy - The study of the animal form, with an emphasis on human bodies. * Astrobiology - The branch of biology concerned with the effects of outer space on living organisms and the search for extraterrestrial life. * Biochemistry - The study of the chemical reactions required for life to exist and function, usually a focus on the cellular level. * bioengineering - The application of engineering to biology, specifically medical technologies * biophysics - The application of physics to biological processes * Biotechnology - A new and sometimes controversial branch of biology that studies the manipulation of living matter, including genetic modification. * Botany - The scientific study of plants and related organisms. * Cell Biology - The study of the cell as a complete unit, and the molecular and chemical interactions that occur within a living cell. * Cryobiology- The study of life in ice or very low temperatures. * Developmental Biology - The study of the processes by which an organism develops from a zygote to its full structure. This field includes the study of cellular differentiation as well as body structure development. * Ecology - The scientific study of the relationships between plants, animals, and their environment. * Entomology - The study of insects. * Environmental Biology - The study of the natural world, as a whole or in a particular area, especially as affected by human activity. * Ethology - The study of animal behavior. * Evolutionary Biology * Genetics - The branch of biology that deals with heredity, especially the mechanisms of hereditary transmission and the variation of inherited characteristics among similar or related organisms. * Herpetology - the study of reptiles * Histology - The study of cells and tissue, a microscopic branch of anatomy. * Ichthyology - The study of fish. * Mammology - The study of mammals. * Marine Biology - The study of animals living in water. * Microbiology - The study of organisms too small to see with the human eye. * Molecular biology * Neurobiology - The study of the nervous system, including anatomy, physiology, even pathology. * Oceanography - The study of the ocean, including ocean life, environment, geography, weather, and other aspects influencing the ocean. * paleontology - The study of fossils and remains of life. * Pathology- The study of diseases. * Physiology - The study of the parts of the body of different living and how they work. * Zoology - The study of animals and animal life, including classification, physiology, development, and behavior. --- It can help us to provide the things that we need and the things that the nature needs, to help our mother earth survive.....

I am currently taking a Bio course and, although its only about 1/4 through, I've really just learned about cells and their functions such as cytoplasm, vesicles, nucleus, cell membrane, that kind of thing. There are also sub-catagories in Biology such as zoology, botany, Cytology, Agriculture, Anatomy, Evolutionary Biology, and so on. Its a good course if you want to do something in the Medical or Animal Care feilds. Hope this helped!

all sorts of things, I'm studying it at higher level and there are 3 units the first unit is about cell biology, so that's how cells work and what they do. The second unit is all about genetics and adaption so that's about genes and how animals and plant adapt to their surroundings through mutation and natural selection. And the last unit is about control and regulation so that's all about how animals and plants control their temperature, water and sugar levels etc. Obviously they go into much more detail :) its really interesting. Are you thinking about studying?

biology has loads of areas.... depends on the area....

some examples:

Botany: study of plants (tropism, structure)

Zoology: study of animals (physiology, behavior...)

Marine Biology: study of aquatic species of plants and animals

Conservation: protection and management of ecosystems to conserve a certain species

Human Biology: study of human body - organs, systems, etc...

Molecular Biology - biology to a molecular level, eg. when looking at respiration, we study how molecules and ions interact to make it possible

and many more, like cellular biology, ecology, genetics, etc...
