A theory supported by evidence (apex)
It is the primary theory in Biology that states life on earth has changed over time due to inheritable changes in DNA. Different species originated in response to varying environmental conditions.
A scientific theory is based on an observable phenomena, like gravity. A theory is the result of a positive test result, and accumulated positive test results that creates the sound basis for how something occurs. If there is no positive test result, it remains an unsubstantiated idea, or hypothesis.
Evolution is the process of physical change, over an extended period of time, that has been slowly accumulating positive test results, to the point where it can now be declared as fact.
Evolution via natural selection, or simply "the theory of evolution," suggests that any imperfect replication scheme coupled with some selection function (in our case the natural environment) will ultimately result in modifications to species.

Modern evolutionary theories are still based off of Charles Darwin's theories of evolution published in 1859. They have yet been proven as scientifically inadequate or incorrect, nor have new, more plausible theories been created so Darwin's theories are still the basis for modern evolutionary science.
Every time a life form creates an offspring, the offspring is different from the parent. If the difference is beneficial to survival, the offspring is more likely to live long enough to procreate. If the difference decreases the likelihood of survival, the creature may not live long enough to mate. Most of the time, however, the change is minuscule and has no significant effect on the animal's survival. Evolution needs no outside influence to produce more efficient animals. In the Sahara desert, paleontologists have discovered one of the most complete fossil records that show how whales went from land mammals to ocean mammals. This record includes nostrils that migrate to the top of the head and become one and an inner ear that mutates to better hear under water. Whales also have a completely useless hip bone. Note also that all ocean mammals' tail fins move up and down rather than side-to-side like fish and while swimming their spines move exactly like four-legged land animals. Consider also human birth. It is more dangerous, more painful, and our children are born less developed than other animals not because women are cursed, but because our hips have changed to accommodate walking upright. Our children must come out underdeveloped if they want to come out at all because our females' birth canals are smaller. This problem is not likely to be rectified due to the fact that we have found unnatural ways to ensure the preservation of mother and child. Male pattern baldness is also likely the work of evolution because we have for thousands of years found unnatural ways to cover our scalps.
the answer is the idea that life on earth has changed over time due to hereditary changes in DNA
hypothesis
He proposed a theory that attempts to explain why and the fact of evolution works. It is, so far, the best and most accurate theory that adequately explains why evolution happens.
The theory of Evolution and Survival of the fittest.
an idea that is supported by many different experiments
The Neutral Theory of Molecular Evolution was created in 1983.
Evolution itself is a fact, as it can be observered in both the environment and in the laboratory. A theory is a statement or series of statements which describes and explains a natural phenomenon based upon a solid foundation of evidence. The theory of evolution fits into the criteria of a theory.
There is currently only one theory of evolution: the theory of evolution by natural selection, as pioneered by Charles Darwin, which describes how the diverse modern life forms derived from their common ancestors.
There are several theories to explain evolution, though evolution itself is not a theory. Perhaps the best known is Darwin's theory through natural selection.
hypothesis
I am a geologist and I know of no theory of "geologic evolution". "Evolution" as defined by Darwin describes the origin of species based on the survival of the fittest. This certainly can not be applied to geological processes, although life is integral to geology.
Presently, the ejected ring theory best describes the origin of moon.
That the theory of evolution by natural selection fits the facts of evolution. The theory of evolution by natural selection is based on myriad lives of converging evidence and is the best explanation we have for the adaptive changes leading to speciation in populations of organisms.
It does not mater what anyone thinks about the theory of evolution by natural selection. The theory of evolution by natural selection is the best explanation we have for much of the observed and observable fact of evolution. The theory is internally consistent with the fact of evolution, it is supported by myriad lines of converging evidence and it generates testable predictions in the form of scientific hypothesis. The opinion of no one is needed by the theory of evolution by natural selection and educated people have come to accept the theory.
Darwin's best argument in favor of the theory of evolution was natural selection. The most serious objections came from religion.
Evolution does not concern the origin of the universe. Evolution is a theory concerning the origin of species--diverse biological organisms--via mechanisms of inheritance with modification. The origin of the universe is best dealt with by the Big Bang theory.
No. Evolutionary theory is one of the best supported theories in the natural sciences.
Theory of evolution refers to animals and plants evolution along the time. Language evolution is another issue, not entirely related to the theory of evolution. It follows the theory of evolution on some way but it is related to culture evolution, not to the physical attributes evolution.
