i think it is bulldogs or bull mastif Fighting dogs is illegal but facing a pitbull with a dog of another race is unethical and cruel. The pitbull has an extra edge no matter how bigger the other dog is.

∙ 14y ago"pit bull dogs"... This is not a correct term. I can answer the question if you mean the American Pit Bull Terrier though. The American Pit Bull Terrier is a descendant from the (now extinct) English White Terrier and old fighting type English Bulldogs (not to be confused with present day bulldogs). There may have been some mollosser type dog breed blood mixed in there, but no one is really sure. These dogs were bred for fighting dogs and baiting bulls, NOT ATTACKING people, therefore, they surely do not deserve their unfair reputation. :) Dog fighting is now illegal, luckily. Hope this helped. Also, there is no such thing as "pit bull types". There is only one true Pit Bull and that is the American Pit Bull Terrier.

∙ 12y agoThe Pit Bull Terrier (or American Staffordshire Terrier) was first bred from large Staffordshire Bull Terriers - a similar English breed. American breeders wanted a larger version of the English so selected the biggest offspring for further breeding. They were (and still are illegally) used for fighting other dogs in organised fighting rings.

∙ 12y agoNo breed of pit bull is better than another. All three are equal and are very loyal, athletic, and overall just a good friend. However, depending on the pit's past, the dog could have been traumatized and may have developed fear or maybe even aggression, but thats true with any type of dog. No pit bull is better than another.
