What came first petrol or diesel?

Petrol came first, as it was more obvious as a use of power than diesel because it was flammable and already in liquid form, yet diesel was discovered as a use of power for engines later. I would say petrol because when they invented cars they made petrol cars and from the chemicals etc. in petrol they invented diesel

Hummer is for a normal power vehicle and the powered vehicle of hummer is what?

The original military HMMWVs and first civilian Hummer H1s were powered by a 6.2 litre General Motors diesel engine (which was a rebadged Detroit Diesel motor). The later M1113, M1114, etc. series were powered by a 6.5 litre turbo diesel. These motors were available for the civilian Hummer H1, but a 5.7 litre General Motors petrol motor and 6.6 litre Duramax (rebranded Mitsubishi) turbo diesel were also available. The 'midsize' civilian Hummer H2 originally was equipped with a 6.0 litre petrol motor until the 2008 model year, at which point, it came standard with a 6.2 litre petrol motor. The 'small' civilian Hummer H3 has the options of a 3.5 or 3.7 litre inline five petrol motor, or a 5.3 litre V8 petrol motor.

it depends on what year it is and what engine it has in it. if you have the 7.3L diesel then it comes stock without a cat. and if it's a 6.0L diesel then yes it does because it came stock with them. if you have a gas engine then you should diffinitely have one!

Is a turbo timer needed for a stock diesel engine?

If your diesel came with one, put one back on. Turbos give the air volume need for your engine to run properly. If you don't want a turbo you will have to re-program your ECM, all your injectors times are set for a boosted engine.
