Tropical climate, typical rainy/dry seasons. Warm heavy rains and lots of clouds as it's a coastal state. If you don't mind rain in the wet season it's actually quite a pleasant climate!

The brown colour is just from the wet rain on the dry ground. The rain is moisture, and the ground may not have had moisture in it so therefore the rain put moisture into the ground.

Tornadoes can happen at any time of year, but if a region has distinct dry an wet seasons, tornadoes will be more likely in the wet season, as they require thunderstorms to form.
