Impossible to say since its a robot it can be broken but then it might not be and it could then work for a long time to come.
Valerie Thomas had a NASA robot named after her, the Robonaut 2, which was later transported to the International Space Station for research and maintenance tasks.
Many years. Probably the whole journey would be so difficult to arrange that it will never be done. This is just not true, NASA has been working on our manned Mars landing for years, and in 2020 when we return to the moon it will be to test the Rover we'll be using - mostly testing how Martian dust will affect the machine, inside and out. Martian dust devils are a mile high and wide, impossible to control, I guess the closest we have to it here is volcanic ash - can't be pushed, swept, only blurred. Also solar radiation is another obstacle we've been working on, and successfully. The Rover will carry 4 astronauts and (possibly) a robonaut.
The invention of the telescope was the most helpful to the advancement of astronomy. It allowed astronomers to observe celestial objects with greater detail and discover new phenomena that were previously unseen by the naked eye.
