if your cat is already in kidney failure there is little u can do. clear liquids only, but kindest to put to sleep. to prevent this from happening, make sure cat, especially male, has plenty of water this can be encouraged by having running water, like leave faucet running slightly and show cat. also, feed canned food more then dry, as ash content is lower.
Is the food KD Feline Prescription Cat Food? If so, then your other cat can eat it occasionally. KD has a lower protein content than other cat foods, which is good for older cats with kidney problems and such. Since it has a lower protein content, it should not constitute your other cat's entire diet. But occasionally feeding it to both cats is not a problem. If it's not KD you're talking about, then ask the question again, this time with the name of the food included in the question.
My cat used to throw up a lot as well. He has a kidney problem and the toxicity in his system was causing him to throw up. If your cat is younger than this is not likely the case but if he is an older cat it is possible he might have kidney problems. It is very common in older cats. Cats live in a dehydrated state most of their lives and it is only when they are older that it catches up with them.
Cats can live with only 25% of their kidney function left. Unfortunately, kidney disease is very common in the domesticated feline.
Renal (kidney) failure is very common with cats - three times more so than with dogs.
There could be several reasons why your cat is not eating but drinking lots of water. It could be due to a medical issue such as kidney disease, diabetes, or a dental problem. It is important to take your cat to the vet for a proper diagnosis and treatment.
Yes and no if the older cat has been treated for worms it would not happen but if older cat had not been treated yes it will Hope this help
An older cat.
I had this problem too... If the older cat was originally living by itself, it will seem hostile because it is not used to company. If it was not originally by itself, it just doesn't approve of the new cats for its own reason.
More pigs Kidney. There is a chemical in them which will cause it to repair itself.
yes if your sister has a problem or lost her kidney(s)
Yes, it does. I feed it to my cats sometimes because my older cat is starting to have some kidney problems, and KD is good for that. I just checked the label on one of the cans, and "fish oil" is listed as one of the ingredients.
Sometimes yes.
