How to help an abused man?

Not a lot. You can call the police and make out a report, but you could lose a friend. If this person, is really in an abusive relationship the abuser can and will take it out on your friend. Just be there for the friend, let this person know you will help as much as you can and urge this person to report it.

You may also help to educate your friend, and help them realize there are places they can go for help. When they realize that they do have options, they may also realize that they don't have to continue being abused. See the related links below for a few resources. the abuse must be reported to the authorities immediately, if it is a child social Services must be called ASAP if it is an adult the police, if the abuse goes on and no one steps in then a death will result!!

An abused man could be afraid to tell others about the abuse they are secretly suffering. If you know that he is being abused assure him that this type of abuse is not acceptable. Seek out a shelter in your neighborhood that address male abuse victims support groups.

You can volunteer your time to programs for Child Abuse or Women's Abuse as volunteers are greatly needed. You can call your Mental Health and they will give you the phone numbers to call. Or you can report it to the local PD.
