What kind of job can you get with a Technical Management degree?

I received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology with my major emphasis in Electronics and a Minor in Industrial Management in 1982. I've worked for several large well known companies as a VP of Sales and Marketing, Director and in product development positions. What I discovered when compared to Electrical Engineers is that I have basically the same knowledge, but I also received alot of practical knowledge that is not taught as much with an Engineering graduate. I believe it will become important when your Daughter graduated how she applies herself.

Going to a technical does not guarantee employment, however the programs associated with the schools can supply training necessary to qualify for minimum requirements to apply for jobs in the career field. A tech school offering computer training would obviously prepare its students with training, and possibly certifications, to qualify for jobs in the computing industry, whereas a culinary school graduate would obviously be better prepared for a job in the food, restaurant, and hospitality industry.

Think of what jobs and/or careers are interesting, and choose a school based on the programs it has which cater to those aspirations.

A graduate with a bachelor's degree in technical management has many choices of jobs including project management, health information management, accounting, entrepreneurship, sales and marketing, e-commerce, finance, human resources management, operations and security management, or law enforcement.
