Macbeth's action of hiring murderers to carry out his plan suggests his growing ruthlessness and disregard for human life. It demonstrates his willingness to resort to violence and manipulation to achieve his goals, showing a descent into moral corruption and tyranny.

In the report we hear from the bloody sergeant, we hear about Macbeth being a great warrior, but not a great leader of men. If someone needed bisecting, Macbeth would rush out and do it himself. It is the same with the murder of Duncan; he bears the knife himself. But in his new role as king, he must develop his abilities to use others as his instruments. He strings the murderers a plausible line of BS in order to persuade them to commit the crime for him (money may also have been an incentive). Macbeth is no longer an action hero; he is now a manipulator, taking over the role formerly filled by his wife. His displacement of her in this role is the main root of her despair.
