I have always used Paste wax either clear or colored, that needs buffing and tends to be slippery when you walk on it in your socks, but it nurishes the wood floor and it does not have to be done very often.

∙ 11y agoSurprisingly, peanut oil works wonders and protects the wood over time. You can't apply too much though as it can become very slippery. I'm not sure on how much is used in a given area.
