Acctully, you can have as MUCH gum you want it just needs to be suger free. Just try to stay away from sticky food like... taffy, snickers, twix, Skittles are preffectly fine to eat cuz it isn't sticky. and you can eat popcorn too as LONG as you pick at it slowly and take the corn clear part out, then you can perfectly fine eat popcorn. you can drink pop as long as its sugar free and.... just stay away from sticky candy and stuff wit a a ton of sugar

When you first get braces, it will hurt for a couple days. To stop the pain so much, eat soft food like mash, baked beans, yoghurt ect. Afrter about a week, you wont even realise you have braces! Sorry, I cant help you on the other one!
