The primary function of blood is to carry oxygen from the lungs to the cells of the body. It contains a protein called hemoglobin that bonds with the oxygen in an oxygen rich environment like the lungs and that releases oxygen in an oxygen poor environment such as is found where cells are using oxygen.
Some oxygen is also in solution in the blood plasma but this contributes little to meeting the oxygen needs of the body.
Oxygen is carried in the blood by our red blood cells which have a special molecule called hemoglobin. This molecule sticks to the oxygen molecules by red blood cells.
Red blood cells carry oxygen from our lungs to our cells. Specifically, hemoglobin molecules inside red blood cells carry the oxygen molecules.
The arteries are the blood vessels that carry the oxygenated blood. The coronary artery supplies the heart with blood, it branches off the aorta just above the semilunar valve.
haemoglobin
blood vessels
The pulmonary veins carries oxygen rich blood from the lungs to the heart.
Arteries carries oxygenated blood expect pulmonary artery whereas veins carries deoxygenated blood except pulmonary vein
red blood cells carries oxygen, xylem vessels carries water. both help carry out the process of respiration.
Veins are the blood vessels that usually carry oxygen-poor blood. The exception is the pulmonary vein, which carries oxygenated blood.
The pulmonary veins carries oxygen rich blood from the lungs to the heart.
The blood vessels do. These are not organs, it's where the blood travels through the body.
arteries carry oxygen rich blood out of the heart and veins carry oxygen deprived blood back to th heart
haemoglobin carries oxygen in the blood
The circulatory system carries oxygen and nutrients to the body. It is made up of the heart the blood vessels and the blood.
The pulmonary artery carries oxygen poor blood and the pulmonary vein carries oxygen rich blood.
Blood veesels that are red are carrying blood that is rich in oxygen. Blood vessels that are blue are carrying blood that is oxygen poor. Red blood cells carry the oxygen, and they are the parts of the blood that turns red when carrying oxygen.
