get the seals checked out around the transfer case and tranny
will a 95 chevy k1500 transfer case hook up to a 96 chevy k1500 transmission
with bolts and tighten
I have removed an engine without the transmission and transfer case by adding a temporary crossmember under the transmission. I used a piece of angle iron chained across the frame to support the weight of the transmission. This was on a Chevy with a 4sp trans. You probably should consult a repair manual for your particular auto to be sure.
Remove the trans and take it to a transmission repair shop.
Almost, except the case for a 4WD transmission is designed to mount a transfer case, and the tail shaft is intended to go into said transfer case... a 2WD transmission is not. They will not be compatible.
The approximate cost to repair your automatic transmission would be $1,200 dollars.
Remove all wires attached to the transfer case. Remove the driveshafts. Drain the fluid out of the transfer case. Place a transmission jack under the transfer case. Unbolt the transfer case from the transmission. Unbolt the crossmember the transfer case rests on.
A bad transmission.
$2100 for rebuild as of 4/2012
No. The 2wd and 4wd trans cases are compleatly different.
It has a model 700R4 transmission and a transfer case is bolted on the back to make it into a 4x4 transmission.
take out 6 bolts from the rear of transmission
