because of the animals
OK the person up there doesn't know what they're talking about, because what makes animals salty? THINK my science book has facts, and it says
" salts have collected on the bottom of the ocean floor for billions of years. as rivers and streams flow toward the ocean, they dissolve minerals from the land. the running water carries these dissolved minerals to the ocean."
therefore it does help make the ocean salty
Because the salt dissolved from the earth is transported by rivers in seas.
Minerals on land makes the ocean salty because when the waves hit the minerals they get carried into the ocean. This is why the ocean is salty.
All water, even rain water, contains dissolved chemicals which scientists call "salts."
Salt (table salt) is sodium chloride, NaCl.
Water that contains salt is salt water. it contains salt and minerals.
Ocean water has salt and other minerals, but fresh water has no salt. Fresh water also has minerals in it, but ocean water has more.
They can be called chemical sedimentary rocks, or evaporites; such as rock salt.
when an acid and a base combine, salt and water are formed. This process of reaction of an acid and base is called neutralisation.
Several minerals are left behind when water evaporates.
Salt beds.
Gypsum and Halite are both formed from the body of salt-water.
Evaporite minerals are minerals found in sedimentary rocks that are formed as precipitates from the evaporation of a saline solution. A diapir structure formed by evaporite minerals is a salt dome.
Non-Clastic, or chemical, sedimentary rock is formed from dissolved minerals. These rocks are made of chemical sediments that have been dissolved from minerals. Solid minerals precipitate out of the solution in water. These minerals layer, and the water above them causes the pressure which forms the rock.

Some limestones are made by precipitation of dissolved calcium carbonate. Some cherts are formed from dissolved silicates in thermal springs and evaporite minerals, such as gypsum and rock salt (halite) are formed by evaporation of water from solutions of dissolved minerals.

The reason why salt cannot disolve in water , is because salt is a mineral, and minerals do not disolve in water.
Salt
Hydrogenous sediments are formed when minerals precipitate from the ocean, or they can be formed when minerals in the water react with older sediments.
The rocks on the shore of the ocean are filled with minerals and with every wave that comes in it brings minerals out. AKA Salt.
